What it’s like to achieve a goal

Last Tuesday I finished the fourth and final journal in my new series, “100 Days of Designing My Life.”

If you’ve been here a while, you know that publishing this collection of reflection journals was a dream I committed to in March…

…but can I be honest with you for a sec?

I didn’t actually know if I could do it.

Back in the spring I took a walk in my neighborhood with my airpods in and my voice memo app open – talking out my strategy for how to get four journals written in 6 months.

Reverse engineering the timeline:

If I want to have the journals ready for the holidays, I need to have them published by October, which means I need to have them ready to print by September, which means I need to have them written by August…

Naming the questions I needed help with:

Who will design this for me? How do I actually publish a book? Where do I get an ISBN from? What even is an ISBN?!

Battling my inner critic:

Who am I to write a book? Is self-publishing legit? Will anyone even read these?

Let’s just say: I had a lot of questions and doubts swirling around me.

Which is kind of ironic, given that I’m always the first in line when it comes to believing in YOU and your ability to achieve your dreams.

But my belief in my own ability to follow through on an ambitious dream? It wasn’t as sturdy as I thought.

So it is with awe, gratitude and an even greater appreciation for the co-creative power of the Universe that I am here today to say:

I did it!

  • 4 reflection journals written and published (over 250 pages total!)

  • 100 hand-illustrated watercolors to inspire new thinking and understanding

  • 350+ questions to learn about yourself and take aligned action

  • Hundreds of personal stories and tips to guide and support you.

But you know what matters to me even more than the content I’ve created? That these journals are already helping you!

Helping you discover yourself and who you are becoming (Volume 1).

Helping you define your values, your priorities and your boundaries (Volume 2).

Helping you imagine new possibilities that feel aligned and resonant (Volume 3).

Helping you iterate through incremental steps that add up to big changes in your life (Volume 4 – coming soon!).

These journals have also helped me.

Over the last six months, as I have allowed myself to expand into this new season of creativity, self-expression, and growth, I have also changed. Pretty dramatically, actually.

How I see and value myself.

How confident I feel.

How I show up in the world.

How I now believe that anything I put my mind to is possible.

This experience has taught me that I can, in fact, achieve any dream I set my sights on. I’ve proven it.

What dream are you dreaming of? Can I be your proof that it’s possible?

Because it is!

Onward,

PS: Volume 4 will be in the Wayfinders Collective Shop next week… but Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are ready for you right now – plus new greeting cards that I’ve just added! 👀
