Advice for my younger self

What advice would you give your younger self?

If I could go back and tell younger Ashley one thing, it would be this:

There are only four steps.

To get to the heart of who you are and what will make you happy…

To make you feel aligned and on purpose. Like yourself…

To build confidence and clarity and courage…

To ACTUALLY achieve the change you desire…

You only need to do four things:

  1. Discover who you are today and who you are becoming

  2. Define your values, priorities, point of view, and boundaries

  3. Imagine new possibilities and ideas for your future

  4. Iterate through incremental action that adds up to big change.

Oh how I wish I’d known these four steps earlier!

I could have avoided so much struggling and striving. So much hustling and hurting.

Thankfully, I know them now. And I practice them all the time:

When I coach career changers, when I facilitate team decisions and discussions, and even when I approach my own life goals.

Discovering who I am today, defining what matters to me, imagining what’s next for my future, and iterating my way there.

It’s that simple.

And also? It’s not always easy. I get that. So we’ve gotta practice.

To get you started, I’ve put together this free workbook that walks you through the four steps, AND gives you the chance to reflect on where you are in your journey (using questions straight from my new reflection journal collection!):

Yes, I still wish I had known these steps way back when. And also?

It’s never too late.

Will you download the guide and give it a try? I’d love to hear what you think.

Onward,
