From Confusion to Clarity
Remember that time I spent $250,000 on an MBA because I thought it would solve my “job problem?”
That’s right. I was deeply unhappy at work, looked around at what my friends were doing, and decided to throw myself into business school. All because I thought it would solve my problem.
You can probably guess how that worked out (or didn’t).
When we're faced with the discomfort of being unhappy at work, we often jump right into “solution mode.”
If I’m unhappy at my job, it means I should go get a new one, right?
But what happens when you jump to a solution – and still end up feeling stuck?
If that’s happened to you – first, know you’re in good company (ahem, with me)! It happens to the best of us.
AND, it’s a good clue that you were likely trying to solve the wrong problem.
If you're ready to get unstuck and feel confident in the path you’re choosing, it’s worth your time to pause and make sure you've correctly identified the problem you want to solve.
That’s why I’m excited to share my free live training with you:
From Confusion to Clarity: A Career Problem Solving Workshop
In this on-demand workshop, you’ll learn my go-to method for getting greater clarity on the problem you’re tackling.
This is a major win, because when you know the RIGHT problem, you can get to the RIGHT solution.
For example, had I spent a teeny bit more time (like, an hour) going deeper on the job problem I was facing way back when…
…I might have clarified that my “problem” wasn’t that I was unhappy in my field or my role, but that in reality I was working for a leader I didn’t trust and whose presence created office dynamics that were toxic and dysfunctional.
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PROBLEM.
And one that definitely, DEFINITELY would not have resulted in me spending 6-figures on a graduate degree that I didn’t actually want!
An added benefit? When you spend time clarifying the problem you actually want to solve, you deepen your sense of confidence in yourself and trust that you’ve vetted your options. Which means you can move forward and take action from a calm, measured and thoughtful place.
No more rushing into solution mode for you!
